AG1 by Athletic Greens with almond milk / oat milk

athletic greens milk
Most people drink AG1 by Athletic Greens with water. This is also great, and we especially love the vibrant green colour it creates. A real green shake! But if you like your morning drink a little creamier, you should try to replace the water with (plant based) milk! We love AG1 Athletic Greens with oat milk, but any other plant-based milk will do, such as almond milk, coconut milk, or soy milk. Of course, cow's milk is also possible, although the Athletic Greens AG1 Shake would then of course no longer be vegan and also no longer lactose-free. Therefore, we prefer to do without it and opt for a vegetable milk in combination with Athletic Greens(which was renamed AG1 in September 2021).

Athletic Greens (AG1) with almond milk

Almond milk is the lowest calorie option of all the plant-based milk alternatives. At least when it's without sugar substitutes. Another advantage is its nutty creamy taste and the extra portion of vitamin A and other trace elements. Unlike real cow's milk, however, almond milk contains almost no protein and, by nature, no calcium. Many manufacturers therefore artificially add calcium to their almond milk.

AG1 by Athletic Greens with oat Milk

Oat milk is a mixture of oatmeal and water. Depending on the manufacturer, the consistency is less creamy than almond milk, for example. However, there are now manufacturers who market an oat milk as “barista edition”, meaning that their oat milk is even creamier. Absolutely once try, if you find so its oat milk in the supermarket shelf. Oat milk contains, among other things, the valuable dietary fiber beta-glucans. It helps your body absorb and utilize vitamins and minerals even better.

Therefore, from this point of view, oat milk is also an optimal combination with Athletic Greens!
Additionally, oat milk is better for the environment than other milk alternatives because the oats can grow with less water input.

That said, there are also a few things to consider with oat milk. People with gluten intolerance should rather go for almond milk, soy milk or rice milk, because oat milk can contain both gluten and avenin, which acts similarly to gluten. So if oat milk doesn't agree with you, this could be a reason and you should rather switch to almond milk or soy milk. Similarly, oat milk is not suitable for a low carb diet, as it contains a lot of carbohydrates and drives up blood sugar levels.

AG1® Athletic Greens with Soy Milk

AG1® by Athletic Greens with Soy Milk is, in our opinion, the perfect combination for menopausal women. This is because the soy milk, due to contained isoflavones and phytoestrogens, can help maintain or even slightly raise estrogen levels, which can alleviate some of the typical menopausal symptoms.

Men should therefore not enjoy this milk alternative in large quantities, but soy milk is of course a great milk alternative for men to enjoy in combination with AG1 by Athletic Greens!

It contains no cholesterol, is a good source of protein, and contains plenty of vitamin A and vitamin B-12, so it's a great way to replenish vitamin B12 supplies, especially for vegans. By nature, soy milk does not contain calcium, but many manufacturers add calcium to their milk after the fact.

Unfortunately, however, there are again a few shortcomings with soy milk that should be considered: some people do not tolerate soy proteins very well and get symptoms similar to those of lactose intolerance. In addition, men should not overdo it when consuming soy milk, as already mentioned, in order not to bring the estrogen balance into imbalance. However, one glass per day is of course not a problem.

AG1 with Milk

You see, there are many ways to enjoy AG1 by Athletic Greens. So it doesn't always have to be water. Which milk variant is ideal for you and your body, you should therefore simply test out. You will certainly like every version. And the change back to AG1 with water is therefore always exciting.
